Written by John Bridges, the book How to Be a Gentleman: A Time Guide to Timeless Manners is actually the revised and updated edition of the best selling How to Be a Gentleman. The manual offers practical advice on being a gentleman in the twenty-first century. With aptly named chapters such as “A Gentleman Gets Dressed”, “A Gentleman Goes to the Office” or my personal favorite, “A Gentleman Says the Right Thing” this book is charmingly insightful.
In my opinion, this book is more of a socialization guide than anything else. It can be considered a more comprehensive explanation as to why certain manners have become custom among “gentleman.”

100% of the proceeds from the bids and donations will support the Hurricane Sandy relief efforts of New York City Cares. Founded in the late-80s, New York City Cares is now the city’s largest volunteer organization, running programs for 1,300 nonprofits, publics schools and city agencies.
